Highland Oaks Designing Dads is a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is not affiliated with PTSA.

How are HODD funds given to Highland Oaks Elementary?
Any and all funds donated to or raised by Highland Oaks Designing Dads are deposited to the FDIC Highland Oaks Designing Dads bank account. It is the responsibility of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to deposit any monies to the credit of HODD. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the CFO to disburse funds at the direction of the Board of directors and to provide an accurate accounting of any and all assets, liabilities, equities, gains, losses, receipts and disbursements as requested by any director. Historically, HODD has disbursed monies to Arcadia Unified School District on an annual basis. This disbursement has been a gift to AUSD which has been used to fund the Highland Oaks performing arts program teachers’ compensation and other activities for the benefit of all students at Highland Oaks Elementary School.

What is funded?
– Salary for 3 amazing and highly qualified Performing Arts teachers who gives instruction to all students in grades TK-5. Once a week during normal school hours throughout the school year, October – April.
– The Show Choir program for grades 4 and 5 (optional) before school two times a week. Currently they meet Wednesdays and Fridays 7 am – 8:10 am at Highland Oaks Elementary.
– Expenses needed for the Holiday and Spring performances.
– Supplies for classes, sets, props, and costumes for performances during the school year.
– Continue to improve stage lighting in the MPR.

How do the performing arts teachers get paid?
The Highland Oaks performing arts teachers are employees of the Arcadia Unified School District. The compensation paid to the teachers is made via AUSD payroll checks. HODD makes an annual donation to the Arcadia Unified School District. This donation has been mainly used for funding the salaries of the performing arts teachers and materials needed for classes and performances. Performing arts teachers are NOT directly paid compensation for teaching services from HODD.

Is my online donation secure?
Yes. Donorbox uses Stripe’s secure token mechanism. Card numbers are tokenized (the number is changed to an undecipherable string, IE: `tok_fafds23423′) before we charge the card. Saved cards & bank accounts for recurring donations are also tokenized.

Therefore, Donorbox doesn’t have any record of the donor’s card number in our database and logs. That means hackers will never get sensitive card or bank information from us.

Donorbox is PCI compliant under “PCI validation: SAQ A”. We utilize Stripe Elements technology that has financial input fields which are done securely in Stripe’s iframe. Stripe is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

The transmission between the donors, the Donorbox form, and Stripe is encrypted using 256bit SSL/TLS. Stripe is one of the most secure and trusted payment providers. It is used by Twitter, Shopify, Kickstarter, and Lyft.
